10. Pepe Mel – West Bromwich Albion

Starting the list of the Managerial Changes in The 2014-15 Premier League Season is former West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel who is now the current manager of Spanish club Real Betis. Pepe Mel joined West Bromwich Albion from Real Betis on an 18 month contract on 9 January 2014 his appointment coming after a 1-1 draw against Everton. The Spanish manager got his first win for his new club after seven days with a win against Swansea City, just one day after the end of the season Pepe Mel left the club on mutual consent and returned to his old club Real Betis.

9. Tim Sherwood – Tottenham

After starting out as an assistant manager under Harry Redknap in the 2008 Tim Sherwood went on to be the head manager of the club after the departure of the then manager Andre Villas Boas in 2013. Before becoming the manager Tim was given the job as the caretaker of the team, he lost his first game in charge against West Ham United in the Capital one cup after four days he’s team won 3-2 against Southampton and was given the job as manager and was handed an 18 month contract to end in the 2014/15 season. On 13 May 2014 Tim Sherwood was sacked as Spurs boss after a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa, Tottenham finished sixth on the Premier League standings.

8. Mauricio Pochettino – Southampton

in number is current Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine manager signed for Southampton in 2013 from Espanyol becoming the second manager to manage the English club after Osvaldo Ardiles, his first game in charge ended in a 0-0 draw against Everton. He recorded his first win as manager against the then reigning Champions Manchester City in a 3-1 win at home.

Just after 18 months in charge of Southampton, Maurici Pochettino joined Spurs as a replacement for Tim Sherwood on a five year deal not that he was sacked or anything but was just signed by the London based club. The Argentine coach was replaced by Ronald Koeman at the start of the 2014/15 season.

7. Tony Pulis – Crystal Palace

One of the best managers in the Premier League no doubts about that. On 23 November 2013 Tony Pulis was appointed as manager for Crystal Palace on a two and a half year deal after leaving Stoke City where he spent most of his managerial career. During the transfer window Tony Pulis made five signings for Palace bringing in a number of fresh players to the squad. The arrival of the new signings made the squad more solid and went on to win five consecutive times, with victories over Chelsea, Cardiff, Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham United, this great run of form helped Tony Pulis win the award of Premier League manager of the month for the month of April in 2014.

Palace finished the 13/14 season 11th in the Premier League which saw Tony Pulis name the Premier League manager of the year. before the start of the new season Pulis left the club ”by mutual consent” after not being back by the board in the transfer market and was replaced by Niel Warnock.

6. Neil Warnock – Crystal Palace

Following the departure of Tony Pulis as manager for Crystal palace, it was announced that Neil Warnock would be appointed as manager for the second time, it was not long that Crystal Palace went on a poor run of form, the club ending up in the bottom three of the Premier League standings on 27th December Neil was sacked and was replaced by Alan Pardew who was signed from Newcastle United.

5.  Alan Irvine – West Bromwich Albion

Alan Irvine was announced that he would fill up the spot as manager of West Bromwich Albion on 24 June 2014 on a 12 month rolling contract. His first game as manager in the Premier League was a 2-2 draw against Sunderland. it was not until his fifth league match that he won his first Premier League game which was against Tottenham Hostpurs with James Morison heading the only goal of the game. He got his first home win against Burnley beating them 4-0 which was their best win since 2012 moving them seven places and sat 10th on the Premier League standings.

After only 7 months in charge Alan Irvine was sacked on 29 December 2014 his team laying 16th in the Premier League with a point above the relegation zone.

4. Alan Pardew – Newcastle

Another manager who is one of ”Thee Best” in the Premier League. On 6 December, 2010, Chris Hughton was sacked as manager of Newcastle three days later it was confirmed that the club had appointed Alan Pardew as the new manager of the club on a five and a half year deal. Sky sports reported that 40,000 fans took part in the poll of who should take charge of Newcastle with 5.5% in favor of Alan Pardew.

In his first game in charge he led Newcastle to a 3-1 win over Liverpool, he also achieved 5-0 win over his former club West Ham United. In 2012 Newcastle finished ahead of Chelsea which honored him the the Premier League manager of the year award and was offered an 8 year contract which he signed, Alan Pardew brought in a number of fresh players signing these where Demba Ba, Pappis Cisse and a number of players from the French Ligue 1 to strengthen his squad.

On 29 December 2014, after the sacking of Neil Warnock as Crystal Palace manager, Alan was given permission to talk to Crystal Palace for a potential move to the club. On 2 January, 2015 Alan Pardew was confirmed as the new Crystal Palace manager.

3. Harry Redknap – Queens Park Rangers

Not only one of the best in the Premier League but also one of the best in the world but has not been on point for a few years now as he has been in charge of Queens Park Rangers. After the sacking of Mark Hughes as manager of the Rangers a day later Harry Redknap was appointed as the manager of queens park Rangers, his first game in charge was a 0-0 draw away at Sunderland. Redknap earned his first win as Queens Park Rangers manager against Fulham his team winning 2-1 that day to mark his first victory as manager of the London Club.

He led QPR to a 1-0 win against the reigning European Champions Chelsea to mark his first away win as manager and QPR‘s first victory over Chelsea since 1979.

with 3 games left of the 12/13 season Queens Park Rangers were relegated from the Premier League to the football Championship, after a single season in the Championship Queens Park Rangers where promoted to the Premier League. The poor run of form in the Premier League did not stop for the Rangers. On 3 February Harry Redknap resigned as manager for Queens Park Rangers after an imminent knee operation and he said he could not give 100% for the club and it would be best if someone else took charge of the club.

2. Paul Lambert – Aston Villa

in 2012 after the sacking of the then manager of Aston Villa Alex McLeish, it was confirmed that Paul Lambert will take over the job at Aston Villa two weeks after the sacking of Alex McLeish. Lambert’s first competitive game as manager of Aston Villa was a 1-0 defeat against newly promoted West Ham United team away at Upton Park. His first win came against Swansea City with Villa winning 2-0. On 23 December 2012 Aston Villa were beaten 8-0 by in form Chelsea making it their worst defeat in top flight football.

On 11th February 2015 Aston Villa announced that they parted companies with Paul Lambert after a 2-0 loss at Hull leaving the club sitting 18th in the Premier League on the verge of being relegated, 3 days later it was announced that Tim Sherwood would take over the job as manager at Villa Park.

1. Gus Poyet – Sunderland FC

Finally we done and to wrap up the list is Gus Poyet who was sacked as Sunderland manager on 16 Marc 2015 after a poor run of form with Sunderland only winning one game in twelve games which saw the black cats Sunderland drop to the relegation zone by the time he was sacked sitting 17th on the Premier League standings. Sunderland also suffered one of the worst defeats in their history loosing 8-0 to Southampton.
