Top 10 Most Expensive Season Tickets Premier League

Which team have the Most Expensive Premier League Tickets? Which team were charging their fans the most for the 2014/2015 campaign? With the Premier League campaign over for yet another season, we thought we would take a look back at the past year and see which clubs charged the most for a match-day ticket.

Top 10 Most Expensive Premier League Tickets

Now most teams these days use a category based system. For example, a category C game would be cheaper than a category A game, so to make things fair, we are looking at the club’s most expensive match-day ticket. A lot has been said in recent time about the cost of football and how clubs are pricing out their fans by charging ridiculous money for single games. So which team last season charged the most? Find out here!

10) Newcastle – £52

Kicking off the list is Mike Ashley’s Newcastle United.

Despite spending most of the season scrapping for their survival in the top-flight, the most expensive Newcastle ticket cost a fan £52 during the 14/15 season.

The Magpies finished the season in 15th despite having to win on the final day to survive in the top-divison.

St James Park fills out week-in, week-out for the matches so they are clearly not put off by the price-tag of the ticket.

9) Southampton – £52

Number nine is also a team that charges their fans £52 and it’s Southampton.

After this season, this seems brilliant value for money as The Saints had a great campaign, finishing seventh in the end and cementing a Europa League spot.

There was major concern around the club last Summer after they sold all their best players, but Ronald Koeman’s clever acquisitions in the transfer window made sure they had a season to remember for the right things.

8) Manchester United – £58

When you think of the size of Manchester United Football Club, charging just £6 more than Southampton is pretty good from the 20-times league winners.

Despite a horrid campaign last year, where they finished seventh under David Moyes, the United faithful were back for this year under Louis Van Gaal and helped cheer them on to a fourth placed finish.

£58 for a ticket at Old Trafford isn’t that bad at all.

7) Manchester City – £58

Another Manchester club and another £58 match-ticket.

Once again not bad at all considering City’s talent on the field. The likes of Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri can be viewed for under £60.

City finished second in the Premier League this time around, falling just short of the title to Chelsea, but they have finished 7th in this list, which is not a bad thing for their fans.

6) Liverpool – £59

In 6th place, ironically where they finished the Premier League campaign, it’s Liverpool.

Just £1 more expensive than their fierce-rivals Manchester United, Liverpool are the 6th most expensive team to follow in the Premier League.

After finishing runners-up last year, optimism was high around Anfield for this campaign, but losing Luis Suarez and an injured Daniel Sturridge saw Brendan Rodgers side plummet to 6th place in the league.

Still, just shy of £60 isn’t too bad for a match at Anfield.

5) Queens Park Rangers – £70

A massive jump from 6th to 5th as London-side QPR are next on the list, charging £70.

£11 more than what Liverpool charge, The Rs have some expensive tickets at Loftus Road despite their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

However, in their defence, anything in London is more expensive and that’s why the next four teams all come from the capital.

4) West Ham United – £75

Like we said, another London team and it’s West Ham who are fourth with a ticket worth £75.

The Hammers are all set for their big-money move to the Olympic Stadium, but at Upton Park, the most expensive ticket they have is £75, nearly £20 more than a Manchester United ticket.

West Ham finished the season in 12th and then parted ways with manager Sam Allardyce.

3) Tottenham Hotspur – £81

Entering the top-three and starting the countdown is Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs finished fifth in the Premier League this year, and finish third here with a ticket costing £81. The North London club are rather expensive for a match-day ticket, but they aren’t the most expensive, with two teams charging more!

2) Chelsea – £87

The Champions of England.

Chelsea won the Premier League this season and the most expensive ticket at Stamford Bridge will cost you £87, which is probably worth it for the stars you will see on show.

The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and Diego Costa can all be seen at The Bridge, and after scoring 73 goals this season, maybe they are worth paying £87 for a ticket.

1) Arsenal – £97

Most people will have already known this.

Arsenal Football Club have the most expensive ticket in Premier League football with a category A game costing their fan £97.

To see Arsenal host Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur, you would have to fork out nearly £100 for the 90-minutes.

Despite being in London, charging more than £1-a-minute is extortionate from Arsenal and that is why their fans have numerous protests throughout the season.
