We look into who EA have overrated in their last game

Everyone loves a bit of FIFA right?! Whether it’s on the Xbox or the Playstation, you cannot beat a bit of FIFA and today SillySeason are going to look into a certain aspect of the game.

Yes today’s top-10 is going to look into who EA overrated in their last game ahead of the FIFA 16 launch which is later this year.

It’s a common debate within fans when a new FIFA game is released. Who is underrated, who is overrated, and today, SillySeason are going to give their opinions on which players were overrated in the last game.

So lets start the list of overrated players in FIFA 15.

10 Juan Mata – Manchester United

FIFA 15 rating: 85

Juan Mata could possibly be an 85-rated player if he was still performing how he was during his days at Chelsea, but that isn’t the case anymore.

Since leaving Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard’s performances have dipped drastically and struggled to get regular first-team football at Old Trafford under Louis Van Gaal.

Mata was stunning for Chelsea, and won Player of the Year for them two times in a row, which merited him a high rating on the game, but since his move to United, he cannot justify his 85 rating.

SillySeason feel he should be knocked down a couple to around 83.

9 James Rodriguez – Real Madrid

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Now lets not get this wrong, James Rodriguez is a phenomenal talent and has a bright future ahead of him, but after just one impressive World Cup, should he really be 86?!

Rodriguez didn’t really make any headlines during his time with AS Monaco, but he was stunning in Brazil for Colombia and that earned him a mega-money move to Real Madrid.

The attacking-midfielder has done fairly well since joining the Bernabeu, but he hasn’t justified a rating of 86.

We feel he should be lowered to around 84, but he will certainly be higher in future games.

8 Dani Alves – FC Barcelona

FIFA 15 rating: 83

Dani Alves is actually one of the highest rated right-backs in the game at 83. Surprising huh?

The Brazilian is a solid right-back, but his glory days are certainly behind him and he should not be considered one of the better right-backs in European football.

Yes 83 rating is rather low to start with, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see it lowered to 81.

7 Wayne Rooney – Manchester United

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Is Wayne Rooney really worth an 86?

The Manchester United striker is certainly not at his best these days and has not been overly impressive for some time now, making his 86 rating look rather foolish.

Whether his reputation alone earns himself the rating is another thing, but his current performances and form on the football field do not merit that rating.

An 84 or 85 would be fairer for the striker.

6 Mesut Ozil – Arsenal Football Club

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Real Madrid Mesut Ozil could easily be higher than this 86 rating, but the Arsenal Mesut Ozil doesn’t deserve to be 86.

The German international hasn’t quite settled in the Premier League just yet, although last season there were glimpses, and an 86 rating is maybe a bit too high for the playmaker.

His lazy style of play gets a lot of criticism and his overall contributions to matches are a lot fewer now compared to his days at the Bernabeu.

Similar to Rooney, 84 or 85 would be fairer for the Arsenal star.

5 Nemanja Vidic – Inter Milan

FIFA 15 rating: 83

Nemanja Vidic has struggled to settle in Italy and didn’t perform very well during his debut season in Serie A with Inter Milan.

After leaving Manchester United, it’s probably fair that he had a rating of around 83 as he was one of the best Premier League centre-backs.

However, going on today’s form, he shouldn’t be an 83 and will probably drop to around 80 in the new game.

4 Javi Martinez – Bayern Munich

FIFA 15 rating: 85

Javi Martinez is one of the best central defensive midfielders around today, but an 85 rating on FIFA is rather high for him we think.

It’s always tricky to rate a defensive minded player as you can’t really judge them on match contributions such as goals or assists, but we think Martinez isn’t good enough to merit an 85.

Even dropping just one rating to 84 would be more realistic from EA, but that one extra rating makes it seem a bit complimentary from the makers.

3. Xavi – FC Barcelona

FIFA 15 rating: 86

Xavi of a few years ago, certainly worthy of an 86 rating.

However, Xavi of today simply isn’t. It seems FIFA really do rate players on their reputations rather than their actual current ability because Xavi is another star that doesn’t merit his current game rating.

He barely played last season for Barca and is now set for a career in Qatar, who don’t even have a league on FIFA, meaning Xavi’s time on the game may be up.

For last season, it would have been fairer to rate Xavi at around 83.

2 Robin Van Persie – Manchester United – Now Fenerbahce

FIFA 15 rating: 88

Another player that was seemingly rated on his reputation.

Robin Van Persie had two superb seasons. One with Arsenal and then one with Manchester United.

However, since then, he’s been rubbish for The Red Devils and has now joined Turkish side Fenerbahce.

A rating of 88 for a striker that barely scored in the past two seasons is ludicrous.

EA got this one totally wrong and should be docking at least three ratings off the Dutchman.

1 Andres Iniesta (Spain)

FIFA 15 rating: 89

SillySeason’s number-one overrated player is Andres Iniesta.

Similar to Rooney, Xavi and Van Persie, a few years ago this rating was justified, but current football, it’s not.

Iniesta is not the same player he used to be and he’s not worthy of an 89 rating in FIFA.

85 is probably a fair score for the Spanish midfielder.
