Top 10 Footballers Who Look Older Than Their Real Age
Being a professional footballer must be a lovely career to have. You get to play sport for a living, you get paid massive amounts, you can drive flash cars, have nice houses and have stunning partners, but some footballers surprisingly don’t look in good condition.
It’s always an awkward moment when someone asks you ‘how old do you think I am?’, but if one of these footballers asked you, you would certainly think they were a lot older than their actual age.
So which footballers looks older than their actual age? Lets look into the top-10 list and see which players are certainly looking on the older side.
Kicking off with number-10.
10. Diego Costa – 26 Years old
Yes, player in the picture is just 26-years-old.
Diego Costa moved from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea over the summer and has had a superb debut season in England, but his appearance is certainly questionable.
Costa looks like he’s lived a troubled life and certainly doesn’t look just 26-years-old.
9. Gary Taylor-Fletcher – 34-years old
Gary Taylor-Fletcher is still a professional footballer despite looking like a father playing in a charity match.
The forward plays for Premier League side, Leicester City, and although he struggles to get first-team football, he is officially on the books at the King Power Stadium.
A rather large frame and a fading hair-line which only has glimpses of grey hairs, Taylor-Fletcher certainly looks older that 34.
8. Danny Ings – 22 Year old
Danny Ings has just completed a move to Liverpool on a free transfer, but due to his age, The Reds will have to pay a compensation fee to finalise the deal.
Yes, Ings is under 25-years-old, meaning Liverpool have to pay Burnley a fee.
The striker is certainly ageing despite his fancy lifestyle and definitely looks older than 22.
7. Charlie Adam – 29 Years old
Another player similar to Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
Doesn’t really look like a professional footballer because of his frame and also his receding hairline, but he is in fact only 29-years-old and still a regular for Stoke City.
Scored one of the goals of the season last year after scoring from the half-way line against Chelsea, but his overall appearance is certainly not up to scratch.
6. Ronny Heberson Furtado – 29 Years old
Ronny Furtado is a Brazilian professional midfielder who plays for German club Hertha Berlin.
Another player similar to ones mentioned on this list, Furtado looks a lot older than his actual age, but he is in fact only 29 and could have several years left in his footballing career.
His receding hairline is a major issue for the midfielder, but despite the lack of hair, he can still contribute to the Bundesliga side on a regular basis.
5. Jeremy Toulalan – 31 Years old
Another player who’s hair tells a different story to his actual age.
The experienced midfielder is actually only 31-years-old, but he looks at least over 40 and that he should have retired a long time ago, but that is not the case.
His experience and knowledge of the game is vital for his position in the centre of midfield.
4. Arjen Robben – 31 Years old
Although he’s still one of the best players in the world, Robben is certainly looking older than his actual age.
The 31-year-old winger is another star who looks like he could have retired sometime ago, but the Bayern Munich man is still playing and still impressing on the world stage.
3. Jay Spearing – 26 Years old
After failing to make the cut at Liverpool, Jay Spearing moved to Bolton Wanderers and despite his old-man features, the midfielder is still only 26.
He looks very similar to Charlie Adam, who we mentioned earlier, but he is in fact THREE YEARS younger than the Stoke midfielder and is the same age as Diego Costa.
The midfielder certainly doesn’t look like he’s halfway through his 20s, but he is and still has many years left in his career.
2. Steve McNulty – 31 Years old
He has spent most of his career in the non-leagues, but after being promoted to League Two last year with Luton Town, Steve McNulty is now officially a football league footballer.
The centre-back has a massive frame and is a rather large man despite his profession, and he certainly looks older than 31.
His grey hair and his big body definitely doesn’t make him look like a professional footballer.

This man is 18-years-old. Yes. The man in the above picture is a teenager.
It caused a global scandal when he was part of Lazio’s academy because he looks near enough 50, but Joseph Minala is in fact still a teenager and is just 18.
Must have been a tough paper-round back in Cameroon for Minala.
