Who has hit the best strike so far this season?

As we reach the end of September in a new Premier League season, we’ve already seen some amazing games, players, and of course, goals.

The unpredictability of the league has once again re-emerged. Who expected Stoke and West Ham to be struggling so badly? Who expected Liverpool to have won away at Arsenal and Chelsea? Is Pep going to run away with the league at Manchester City?

However, every season we see some top goals. Some top players feature on this list with some amazing strikes, but who takes the top spot for goal of the season so far?

10) Zlatan Ibrahimovic – MAN UNITED vs Man City

A great goal that in the end wasn’t enough for United in the derby, it was very nicely finished by Zlatan. A ball from Rooney is floated into the box and Claudio Bravo makes a howler when he tries to come and collect the ball. This allows Ibrahimovic to volley home from inside the box and get United back into the game.

9) Sadio Mane – Arsenal vs LIVERPOOL

A quality goal from Liverpool’s new signing on the opening weekend. The goal took the score up to 4-1 to Liverpool as Mane ran down the right hand side, burst between two defenders and then fired into the top left-hand corner beyond Petr Cech.

8) Demarai Gray – Man United vs LEICESTER CITY

A fantastic strike from Grey came just this weekend. His team were already 4-0 down away at Old Trafford after a shocking first half, but take nothing away from this superb strike, as he curled the ball from 25 yards out into the far right hand corner and pulled a goal back for his team.

7) Ross Barkley – EVERTON vs Tottenham Hotspur

Not intended as a shot, perhaps, but this was a sublime goal from Barkey. From 30 yards out, the young attacking midfielder drifted a delivery from the left hand side into the box. A delivery that went above everybody and found it’s way into the goal instead, brilliant from the Everton star.

6) Diego Costa – Swansea vs CHELSEA

Trailing 2-1 down at the Liberty, up steps Chelsea’s star man to save them a point. The goal comes from the right-hand side with a powerful shot from Branislav Ivanovic, which was saved but shot up into the air above the 6-yard box. Waiting is Costa, who jumped higher than the rest with a powerful overhead kick to bury it and equalize for Chelsea.

5) Raheem Sterling – Swansea vs MANCHESTER CITY

A fantastic goal from a revived player this weekend. To put City 3-1 up, he ran into the penalty area before sending Kyle Naughton the complete wrong way and burying the ball into the bottom left-hand corner, ultimately putting the game beyond Swansea’s reach.

4) Cristian Stuani – Sunderland vs MIDDLESBOROUGH

A fantastic strike that moved, dipped and wobbled in the air and caught Mannone for Sunderland completely off-guard. Stuani picked the ball up 30 yards out and glides towards goal before guiding the ball into the far left-hand corner from 25 yards out, a stunning goal for the newly-promoted team.

3) Phillipe Coutinho – Arsenal vs LIVERPOOL

With Liverpool trailing before half time at the Emirates, Coutinho won a free-kick in stoppage time of the first half. He got up to take it himself 30 yards out, with Petr Cech feeling comfortable enough to only put 3 defenders in his wall. The curl from Coutinho was fantastic as it spun into the top corner, and Liverpool eventually ran out 4-3 winners.

2) Granit Xhaka – Hull City vs ARSENAL

A super hit from the Arsenal new-boy who before this had been struggling to get a start. However, late into the game at the KCOM Stadium, with his team already 3-1 up, Xhaka hit a beauty from 25 yards out which travelled like an arrow into Marshall’s Hull City goal.

1) Jordan Henderson – Chelsea vs LIVERPOOL

Henderson will never hit another goal like this in his life, this was an absolute belter at Stamford Bridge. Following a poor clearance from Gary Cahill, Henderson picked up the ball 20 yards out, and curled high into the top corner of the Chelsea goal, putting Liverpool 2-0 and into complete control of the game. With his stats and performances this season, it was a goal Henderson deserved, and Liverpool certainly deserved to win the game in London that night.
