In England, we always look forward to the opening of the January transfer window, which allows clubs to make changes to their squad mid-season.
Some can help mount a title challenge, or help a club survive a relegation battle. Others…well, just don’t do anything.
So, here are the 10 worst January signings from around Europe, not in England…which means no Andy Carroll or Fernando Torres on this list.
He moved from Newcastle to PSG in 2013, and it was one of the worst buys PSG have made since their dominant spending in the French league began. He’s now back in England playing for Crystal Palace.
Needless to say, buying an average Everton midfielder did not have positive results in Real Madrid when they bought Gravesen to help catch eventual La Liga champions Barcelona in 2005.
