We have picked our top 5 candidates for the Swansea role

Earlier today Swansea City Football Club announced they had sacked manager Garry Monk following a dismal run in the Premier League, with just one win in their last 10-games.

Monk was a player at the Liberty Stadium before taking over the hot-seat and guiding them to a best-placed Premier League finish in his debut season, finishing eighth in the league.

However, it went downhill this season and ultimately, recent form has cost him his job.

So who will replace Monk in Wales?

Here are our five suggestions to take over at Swansea City!

David Moyes

After difficult spells at Manchester United and Real Sociedad, David Moyes has emerged as the frontrunner for the job.

The Scotsman has vast experience in the Premier League after managing Everton and Manchester United.

Moyes was responsible for some of Everton’s best finishes in the Premier League during his tenure at the club. The size of Swansea could well see him implement the same tactics as he had at Everton.

Colin Pascoe

Brendan Rodgers’ right hand man.

Colin Pascoe is second favorite for the job after both playing and managing Swansea.

The former assistant manager was sacked along with Rodgers earlier in the season after drawing to Everton.

Roberto Di Matteo

The former Champions League winning manager could return to the Premier League after being sacked by Chelsea in 2012.

Matteo is currently manager of Schalke 04.

Dennis Bergkamp

Could the former Arsenal great be on his way back to the Premier League? Bergkamp has been involved with Ajax since retiring in 2011.

Brendan Rodgers

The former Swansea and Liverpool boss has been mentioned for the job, however it’s rumoured he would like to manage abroad. Most bookmakers have the Welshman as outsider.

So there are our Top-Five suggestions.
