It’s been a crazy season!

This season has been one of the most exciting the Premier League has ever seen.

Leicester are top, Chelsea are 10th, and Villa are just…awful. It’s been one of the most incredible stories football has ever told. But it hasn’t come without it’s fair share of shocking moments.

Let’s take a look at the 5 most shocking moments of the season.

1) Mourinho was sacked in December – 7 months after winning the league

A year ago, Chelsea were the dominant force in the league. They has bossed the 2014/15 season and had won the league title very comfortably. Little did everyone know that, by the start of 2016, Jose Mourinho would have been sacked and Chelsea would be set to finish without any European football for next season.

2) Jamie Vardy broke the record for scoring in consecutive games

It’s been an unreal season for Leicester, and it started off with a bang as striker Jamie Vardy scored in 11 consecutive games, finally breaking the record in November’s game against Manchester United at the King Power Stadium. It was just the start of an incredible story that seems set to end with Leicester winning the league in 4 weeks time.

3) Adam Johnson was convicted for sexual activity with a child

One of the darker stories of the season, Johnson, who was a Premier League winner with Manchester City, an England international, and was currently under Sunderland’s employment. He was found guilty of sexting and engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, for which he received 6 years in prison and was stripped of his England caps. He left a finance behind who was pregnant with his child, and his reputation was ruined forever.

4) West Ham won at Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City before the end of September

West Ham have had a strong season too, and are currently still in the race for the top 4, but they got off to a flying start under new manager Slaven Bilic, as they got a win at Arsenal on the opening day. They then travelled to Liverpool at the end of August, and stunned the Anfield crowd with a 3-0 win. Then, 3 weeks later, they got a huge 2-1 win away at title favourite’s Manchetser City, not bad for the Hammers, eh?

5) Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho failed a drug test

The most recent story of the bunch, it’s come out over the last few days that Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho failed a drug test following Liverpool’s Europa league tie against Manchester United. It’s been revealed that he has been taking a fat burner and now faces a 6 month minimum ban from UEFA- despite claiming he didn’t know the drug was a banned substance. The hearing will take place over the coming months, but for now Liverpool have withdrawn him from the side and his potential place in France’s Euro 2016 squad is looking under serious threat.
