Tottenham are considering a temporary move to Wembley Stadium after an enquiry to buy Upton Park was rejected. Spurs are currently searching for a new home to play at, while a proposed new stadium is built.

The club did ask to buy Upton park from West Ham but were rejected in their enquiry. The Hammers have already agreeda  deal with a London property developer. A source at Spurs said they never planned to leave Tottenham following a failed Olympic Stadium bid. Spurs and West Ham will also not confirm or deny that they wanted to buy Upton Park.

However, Tottenham have confirmed that they hope to have a new stadium by 2017. A statement on the club website said:

“It is a major development that will present ongoing and, subject to these challenges being manageable, we anticipate going out to tender for construction late this year which will make a stadium opening date of summer 2017 feasible.”

The club are just waiting on the outcome of a public inquiry that was held last April before they can move forward with completing the land assembly.
