Tottenham reportedly failed in a bid to bring in attacking player Alexander Pato from Brazilian cub Corinthians.

The 24 year old striker had spent 6 years at AC Milan where he was a prolific goal scorer, finding the net 51 times in 117 appearances, he moved to the Italian club for £12 million.

Since returning to his native country of Brazil he has scored 7 goals in 16 appearances and is one of the most slaughter after young strikers in the world.

It is now reported that Tottenham Hotspur made a shock bid for Brazilian striker but fell well short of the Brazilian based clubs valuation of the player. It is reported that Tottenham offered far less than the £12 million that Corinthians paid for him in January.
