The Sanchez deal could give Tottenham an edge within regards to any deal for Draxler, with Pochettino yet to make a signing this summer, after being appointed as manager from Southampton back in May.

Draxler himself admitted that he would one day want to play in the Premier League.

The winger, who played 20 minutes in Germany’s 7-1 win over Brazil in the World Cup semi-final last night, scored twice in the Bundesliga for Schalke last season.
