Manchester United are ready to finally step up their efforts to sign Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado.

United have been tracking Cuadrado since the opening of the transfer window and have been monitoring the situation of the player at Italian side Fiorentina, after the club admitted that the player could leave.

But now it is understood that Cuadrado has accepted that he may have to stay at Fiorentina until January at least.

However, after securing the signing of Rojo from Sporting Lisbon, United boss Louis Van Gaal has decided to re-enter the race for the Colombian after interest from Barcelona ended this week.

United are preparing to offer £32 million pounds and act swiftly in completing a deal to allow the player to be registered.

Van Gaal is hoping to sign the player before the weekend so that he can register the player for the game against Sunderland on Sunday.

Barcelona have not been allowed to spend any money for the next two transfer windows and due to Financial fairplay rules, they are not able to bid for Cuadrado in this window.
