New Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has made fellow Dutchman Kevin Strootman his number one target in this summer’s transfer window.

Eventhough Strootman will not be availible until the autumn, Van Gaal has sanctioned a £25 million bid for the midfielder and hopes the club will let him go.

Roma are understood to be wanting to keep Strootman who was playing some of the best football of his career before his major injury occured.

But it is known that the player would be eager to join up with Netherland’s team-mate Robin Van Persie and the manager himself who will leave the international team after the World Cup.
