New Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has been a busy man since taking charge of the club. Now he is planning to make time out of his schedule to call out Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho over comments made about United defender Luke Shaw.

Chelsea were linked with Shaw before he moved to Old Trafford from Southampton for £27M, but Mourinho claims that signing Shaw would have ‘killed’ the Blues financially.

Rumours were rife that Shaw desired £100,000 per week to sign for Chelsea, and Mourinho clearly reckons United paid well over the odds for the defender, who only made his Premier League debut in November 2012.

“We would have killed our stability with financial fair play and killed the stability in our dressing room, because when you pay that much to a 19-year-old kid – a good player, fantastic player – but when you pay that amount of money, the next day, we would have had players knocking on our door’, said Mourinho.

In response, Van Gaal claimed that he would rather meet with Mourinho in private than go through the media, to discuss the comments.
