Manchester United have received positive news involving striker Wayne Rooney after it was announced that he is willing to sign a new contract worth over £250k-a-week.

The Englishman was reportedly unsettled at Old Trafford throughout the Summer and even asked ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson for a transfer away from the club.

However, after the manager announced his retirement, things started to change for Rooney and he seemed happy to stay at the club, especially when they announced the appointment of David Moyes, the man who brought Rooney into the spotlight over a decade ago.

Despite the positive news for United, they will have to fork out a lot more money for the 28-year-old as he looks set to demand a pay-rise despite currently being on £250k-a-week.
