Louis Van Gaal is reportedly on the verge of securing a major signing as it is believed Manchester United are ready to make a bid for Real Madrid and Argentina winger Angel Di Maria. Reports suggest that the disapointment of Vidal rejecting a move to Old Trafford has prompted Van Gaal to go in for Di Maria.
United chiefs are set to contact Real over a deal that would cost the club £45 million, in addition to this United will double Di Maria’s current £44,000 per-week salary if the winger was to move to the Premier League side.
The likelyhood of the deal has increased due to the arrivals of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos at the Bernabeu. The duo, who both shone at the World Cup cost Madrid £84 million, they also cost Di Maria his place in the Champions League winners squad.
United face stiff competition for the midfielder as PSG are reportedly interested in bringing the impressive Argentine to Paris, although the club have FFP regulations to attend to the possibility of Di Maria in a PSG strip may be to tempting for the French side.
