Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is all set to return for Englan’s World Cup fixture against Uruguay.

The Arsenal midfielder impressed in the game against Ecuador last Wednesday evening, before injuring his knee in that match.

Oxlade Chamberlain has since been stepping up his recovery at England’s training camp in Rio, as Hodgson’s side prepare for their first game against Italy in Manaus.

The England manager stated that he is hopeful that Chamberlain can make a full recovery in time for Englan’s Uruguay fixture on the 19th June.

“He’s done very well and will work on his training programme during the course of the week,” Hodgson said of Oxlade-Chamberlain. “The medics hope he’ll be ready for the second game.”
