10 reasons Joey Barton is a straight up tool
There is nothing worse than watching a footballer who has a holier-than-thou attitude and act as if they are the god of the game.
What’s worse is when they are also a complete d*** all the time.
Joey Barton is just that person, this guy for years has put down world class or top players, from Neymar to N’golo Kante, to him it seems everyone is overrated.
The guy is a 24/7 jerk, not only is he an egotistical clown on the pitch, but off it he’s even worse.
Not only is there an abundance of crap spilling from his mouth all the time, whether it’s in the media or online, but the amount of despicable actions from Barton out in the public is just inexcusable.
Not the role model you want in anything let alone Football.
The big question is how in the hell did he manage to have, I guess what you would call a ‘career’ in Football?, he’s not that great and by any good managers standard, he’s not Premier League or European competition quality, Probably Sunday league at best, even still, most of those players are far better and most likely less douchy.
But I digress, let’s do what we came here to do and take a look at 10 reasons Joey Barton is a straight up tool.
10. Alex Bruce incident…
Took a swing at Tom Huddlestone’s groin and was then promptly sent off. That was his 9th sending off of his career and QPR went on to lose against Hull, 2-1. One of just many of the results that led to QPR”s relegation that season.
Just can’t control that temper Mr Barton…anger management?
9. That time Barton broke a pedestrian’s leg
while driving car at 2am in Liverpool City Centre Joey hit a 35 years old, not too much has been reported on this, maybe a bit of hush money involved? who knows.
8. Got triggered and called Gary Linekar an ‘odious little toad’
Gary Linekar jumped to Alan Shearer’s defence following that time Barton called Alan Shearer a “bell” and a “prick”

7. Showing his arse to Everton fans without any regard to Children in the crowd
During City’s 1-1 draw with Everton, Joey the genius though it would be a great idea to show is backside to the Arsenal fans. It was a gesture that landed him a fine from the FA and the police investigated the matter too, disgusting behavior as there were Children in the crowd that didn’t need or want to see his hairy old sweaty backend.
6. So tough he assaulted a 15 year old Everton fan
Joey Barton was on a pre-season tour over in Thailand with Manchester City when something triggered the precious snowflake and assaulted a 15 year old Everton fan, claiming the kid had kicked him in the shin first.
So a bit of ‘but he started it first’
Just a quick reminder he is a grown man, just in case you thought I was talking about a teenager, so remeber, Joey Barton is a grown man.
5. He attacked Ousmane Dabo
Barton clearly didn’t get on all that well with his teammates over at Manchester City. In 2007, at Man City’s training ground, there was an ‘altercation’ in which Joey Barton ended up knocking out Ousmane Dabo.
That’s not the first time he had been involved in a fight with a teammate, However, this time it landed him with a 4 month suspended sentence.
Yep only 4 months, probably paid
4. He punched Pedersen in the chest
Notice a pattern in this list? it’s violence, Joey has a huge problem with his temper, I bet if you say that to him he will yell and try to fight you, anyway, not much to say as the clip pretty much speaks for itself.
3. Barton went to jail for common assault and affray
It was CCTV footage that was used to prosecute Joey Barton after a fight where he punched one man 20 times, and left a teenager with broken teeth.
Joey has an account of this incident from May 2008 on his website, watch it you will see very one-sided event, However, the court weren’t buying into his crap and sentenced him to six months behind bars
2) Got arrested for assault and criminal damage after an argument with a Liverpool cab driver
Joey allegedly ripped out the car’s radio because the driver refused to go to a drive-thru McDonald’s.
This is the level of intellect we a re dealing with here, Joey got triggered because the cabbie wouldn’t take him to Mcdonald’s.
I know 4 year olds that would accept a no.
Joey was bailed until May over the incident, when he was eventually cleared.
1. Stubbed a lit cigar in someone’s eye
Bad boy Barton stubbed a lit cigar into the eye of reserve Manchester City player Jamie Tandy. this landed him a club record fine that was equivalent to 6 weeks’ wages and some really bad backlash.
But bad boy Barton ain’t afraid if no backlash, this is his fuel.
So there you have it, just 10 of the MANY reasons Joey Barton is a complete douche.
