Hull City are set to complete the proposed £9.5 million signing of Abel Hernandez, reports the Daily Mail.

The Uruguay midfielder flew into Britain over the course of the weekend, and is set to complete the deal in the coming hours, with Steve Bruce turning to the Palermo man after failing to sign Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes.

24 year old Hernandez, who starred in Palermo’s promotion to Serie A last season, with Hull gaining a work permit for the player.

Manager Steve Bruce confirmed that the deal is pratically done, with the player agreeing terms and set to sign for the Humberside club.

‘We expect the Hernandez deal to be completed before Monday’s deadline,’ said Bruce.

‘We are just awaiting his signature. The work permit is already in.’
