Speaking in his press conference today, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he is feeling confident over potential signings, but insists that Julian Draxler is a no-go.

Wenger, who is speaking ahead of his side’s weekend clash with Crystal Palace, has been fending off questions about today’s transfer deadline day, and when asked about his activity, he seemed pretty confident that signings will be made, whether it be loan or permanent.

When asked about the Schalke midfielder and their interest in him, Wenger responded with: “The Draxler situation has been created by the newspapers, not by me. He will stay at Schalke”

After confirming the Draxler deal was a no-go, Wenger was then asked about his activity today, and the Frenchman seemed adamant that signings will be done: “I’m confident that we’ll do something today. It’s 80-20.”
