Liverpool are leading the Premier League title, perched atop and ahead of Manchester City with a six-point lead. Jurgen Klopp’s men looked unbeatable for the first eight games before Manchester United actually laid out the blueprint on how to stop them and held them to a draw.

While Manchester City will be thankful to their fallen neighbours for reducing the gap, they will now bank upon Tottenham to do them the same favour.

Tottenham are currently suffering through a rough patch but nonetheless, their exciting showdown vs Liverpool this Sunday promises to be filled with action, drama and delirium.

On that note, let’s have a look at five such players who plied their trades for both these sides.

5. Steven Caulker

Surely, only a handful of the most hardcore Tottenham supporters might remember Steven Caulker. The one-time English international graduated from the club’s youth academy and made only 29 appearances for them.

Caulker’s career started going downhill after he spent a number of loans at Yeovil Town, Bristol City and Swansea City. Amazingly, he also ended up being at Anfield on loan during the second half of season 2015/16.

However, Caulker only made three appearances in his loan spell and it was also revealed that he was battling depression during his time at Liverpool.4.  Graeme Souness

When Graeme Souness sits down to  debate over which team played well in the Sky sports post discussion, he will have a dilemma over which team to side with.

Known for this immensely successful time at Anfield where he won five league titles and three European Cups, few are aware that Tottenham was actually Souness’s first professional club.

The Scot, although, appeared only once for the Lillywhites before switching to Middlesbrough and Liverpool later. Guess, it would have also been tough for the Scot to choose a side when Liverpool faced Tottenham in the Champions League finals last season.3. Robbie Keane

Robbie Keane had scored 107 goals when he decided to swap Tottenham for Liverpool in 2008. While the move did go through, the controversy started sometime later when the Lillywhites filed a complaint against about the Reds’ conduct.

Keane scored 5 goals in 19 games for Liverpool before Rafa Benitez allowed him to rejoin his former club in January. Keane’s return post-Liverpool spell wasn’t that impressive; he scored 15 goals in 52 games for Tottenham.2. Brad Friedel

Brad Friedel was a Premier League nomad during his time in the English top-flight. Having started his career with Newcastle United as a youngster, where he actually didn’t make any first-team appearance, he joined Liverpool in 1994.

However, work permit issues saw the American’s debut being delayed until 1998. He spent the majority of his time playing as second-fiddle to David James and Sander Westerveld.

Friedel became a regular at Tottenham when he joined them in 2008, albeit he made only one appearance in the last three seasons at the White Hart Lane.1. Peter Crouch

Peter Crouch is regarded as one of the most famous journeymen in the Premier League. The Englishman began his career with Tottenham in the late 1990s but was unable to break into the first team. He was sold to QPR later.

Nine years fast forward, the 6ft 7in striker returned to the White Hart Lane and scored 24 goals in 93 games, playing a pivotal part in helping Tottenham qualify for the Champions League.

Crouch also represented Liverpool for three years, netting an impressive 42 goals in 98 games for the Kop. However, Fernando Torres’ arrival in 2007 eventually saw him fall down the pecking order and move to former employers Portsmouth
