Reports this week claim Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is planning a massive spending spree
The likes of which could cost him around £200 million possibly more before the transfer window closes next week.
Conte has got his sights on the Southampton defensive trio Virgil van Dijk, Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand – who had started his career at Stamford Bridge, It could cost around £150 million for the three, but Chelsea face competition from Liverpool for van Dijk and Bertrand while Soares is believed to be target for Spurs as well.
Chelsea are also prepared to increase their offer for Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater to £25 million after their initial bid of £20 million was rejected.
England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still a reported target as he enters into the final stage of his Arsenal contract.
Meanwhile, out-casted striker Diego Costa has opened the door for a loan move away from Chelsea until Christmas claiming that he needs to play.
