Barcelona are facing a crisis in their attacking department with another forward injured.

Malcom picked up an injury in the match against Cultural Leonesa in the Copa Del Rey.

Barcelona are currently facing problems in their attacking ranks as their new forward Malcom, who arrived at Nou Camp this summer, picked up an ankle injury in the round of 32 match against Cultural Leonesa. The Blaugrana won the fixture 4-2 but what worries them is the lack of depth in their attacking department with the major chunk of the season yet to come.

The reigning La Liga champions are currently without Luis Suarez and Rafinha, both of them out with injuries. While Suarez is expected to make a comeback into the side soon, Rafinha is set to miss the rest of the season. In these circumstances, the injury to Malcom comes as a big blow for the Blaugrana.

The extent of the seriousness of the injury is yet to be understood as the player is set to go under medical examination. Manager Ernesto Valverde has said that he is hopeful that the injury is not a very serious one but as a precautionary measure, he took Malcom off the pitch. He said, “I think it is not a hard injury. I don’t know what exactly he has so I prefer to be prudent”.

Apart from Malcom, Luis Suarez and Rafinha, Barcelona are missing Sergi Roberto and Samuel Umtiti in the defensive department while midfielders Arthur and Arturo Vidal are also out with injuries, piling on the pressure for the Catalan giants.
