Marcelo Bielsa has said that Leeds United deserved to win against Blackburn Rovers.

The Whites went onto register a dramatic victory over the visitors at Elland Road as Kemar Roofe struck twice in the stoppage time to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has said that his side were deserved winners in the match against Blackburn. Kemar Roofe struck twice in stoppage time to get his side over the line against the visitors as the Elland Road club registered a dramatic 3-2 victory in the Championship. This win also stabilises Leeds’ position at the top of the table as they move three points clear of second-placed Norwich City.

Speaking to the media in the post-match conference, Bielsa said, “We deserved to win the game, but maybe in another manner.”

He added, “In the first half it was clear that we deserved to win by a difference of more than two goals and in the second half we deserved to win the game, but we could have lost it. After the first half we didn’t imagine the end of the second half would be like it was. The outcome was different to what we built during the game. Winning the game as we won it today, we need to analyse it, but we couldn’t say it was unfair to win the game, because during it we did everything we needed to in order to win it. We needed to have more impact in the first half and in the second half, we didn’t defend as well as in the first half. The feeling of danger in our goal was higher in the second half than in the first half.”
