Trevoh Chalobah will be sold in January despite Bayern Munich pulling out of the race.

The England international has been struggling to force his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and has recently suffered another injury setback.

He has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Axel Disasi from Monaco this summer and will force away a move this January.

Bayern Munich were interested in the Chelsea academy product but a move failed to materialise in the summer.

He was heavily linked with a potential reunion with former boss Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich in January but the Bavarians have now pulled out of the race.

Chelsea still wants to offload the 24-year-old defender who pockets around £50,000-per-week, and is contracted until the summer of 2028.

On the other hand, Tottenham have also cooled their interest in the Englishman as they are unsure about his fitness issues.

Journalist Ben Jacobs said: “I still think that Chelsea would like to sell Chalobah in January if they can. Just because you’re injured in a window doesn’t mean that you can’t go in a window. Tyler Adams going to Bournemouth from Leeds United in the summer is one example of that.

“Even though Chalobah wanted the move, no agreement was reached.

“Bayern want a centre-back. We’ve seen the links as well with Manchester United’s Raphael Varane, so that might be something to watch.”
