Blues star Eden Hazard wants Chelsea to insert a release clause in his contract before he signs a new contract according to reports.
Chelsea are desperate for Eden Hazard to sign a new deal and talks of a £300,000 contract is reportedly in the cards for the Belgian star.
But Hazard has been stalling on signing the new contract amid Real Madrid interest and it’s now believed that even though Hazard is close to signing, he wants the Blues to put a release clause in his contract.
Hazard’s current deal expires in 2020 and Chelsea are desperate to keep their star man for the long-term future.
The 27-year-old has told Chelsea to insert a release clause in his new contract and if they do, he’ll be happy to sign. It’s believed he wants the release clause so that if Real Madrid do go for him, it will be for an agreed price.
It’s not certain yet how much the release clause would be.
