Crystal Palace have completed the signing of West Ham’s Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate for a fee believed to be £9.5 million. Kouyate has joined The Eagles on a four-year deal.

The 28-year old joined West Ham from Anderlecht in 2014 and spent four seasons at the club, scoring 15  goals in 147 appearances. Last season, he played 37 matchess, scoring 37 goals and providing 3 assists.

Following his transfer, Kouyate spoke to Palace TV. He said, “This is the right time to move because I needed a new challenge. I have good memories of West Ham but I need to come here and give my best because I like the Crystal Palace project.”

The Senegal captain is Crystal Palace’s second signing this summer after roping in Spanish goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from Getafe. Crystal Palace begin their Premier League campaign against newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage on 11th August.
