Gareth Bale made his second Spurs debut against LASK on Thursday.

The Welsh winger, on loan from Real Madrid, came off the bench for Tottenham last week against West Ham United which they drew 3-3.

The 31-year old has struggled for game time at Santiago Bernabeu and acknowledges he need to works on his fitness and is looking forward to getting back on his form.

“We know these games are important. We went out there today and did a great job,” he said.

“We were solid, threatening and the most important thing is to get the start and three points.”

Asked how he felt after the game, he replied with a laugh: “A bit stiff. It’s like a little pre-season for me at the moment. I’m just trying to get fit and to get more minutes in my legs.

“Hopefully it won’t take me long to get up to speed and I’m just enjoying being back at the pitch and at this amazing club.”
