The World Cup winner has entered the final six months of his contract with PSG and will be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with interest parties in the January transfer window.
Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past two summers as the Frenchman expressed his desire to not extend his deal with the French giants beyond this season.
The 25-year-old forward has scored 24 goals in all competitions for Ligue 1 leaders PSG this season.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has reassured that he will continue to fight for Mbappe, urging he would be happy if the forward continued at Paris.
“I’m not going to hide that I want Kylian to stay,” Al-Khelaifi told broadcaster RMC.
“The best player in the world is Kylian and the best club for him is Paris.”
Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the French forward and a potential move is on the cards when the current season concludes.
“He has the best training centre in the world, the best coach in the world (Luis Enrique),” added Al-Khelaifi.
“Every year he’s sure of playing in the Champions League, we’re in the last 16 at least, quarter-finals, even semi-finals or final, we’re there with the big clubs.”
