Manchester City captain David Silva has said that they are calm and focused about their position.

City trail Liverpool by nine points in the league. They need a drastic change in results for not just them but also Liverpool. However, Silva is not ready to rush the situation.

“We have had this kind of gap in other seasons, even with less games left, and we managed to win the championship in the end,” said Silva.

“We have less points than Liverpool and are nine points behind. We need to focus on ourselves, try to win every game and we will see what happens at the end of the season.

“I think we are in good form, in spite of some bad results. Liverpool are doing very well, that’s why there is a big gap between us. This is not the first time we have been so far off the top of the table.

“We need to remain calm and focus on our games. Against Liverpool last time out, it was difficult because we didn’t win, but tomorrow we have another chance and we need to be ready.”

On his fitness situation, Silva added: “I’m fine now. It was only a matter of a few days, I had some discomfort, but I’m fine.”
