We already knew one City departure was certain.
But it seems that Mahrez has now revealed to us yet another one.
Riyad Mahrez and Manchester City teammate Benjamin Mendy were involved in a game on Sky Sport‘s Youtube Channel were the pair had to answer quickfire questions. The pair were asked which City star announced that this would be their final season with Pep Guardiola’s side.
Mahrez beat left-back Mendy to the buzzer and revealed the correct answer, which is David Silva, whilst also letting slip that Fernandinho will be leaving. As a result, Mendy simply stood with his hand over his mouth before smiling at Mahrez.
Veteran midfielder David Silva had already confirmed it would be his final season at the club after nine season with the Manchester outfit. Back in June, Silva confirmed that he would be ending his spell at City at the end of the season. He told the Daily Mail: ‘This is the last season. Ten years is enough for me. It is the perfect time. Initially, we were talking about two years, but I decided to sign another one, so I finished at 10 years. The cycle is complete.”
Meanwhile, Fernandinho’s contract at Man City expires at the end of the season but there have no indications that the Brazilian will leave or stay beyond his initial deal. Both Manchester City and Fernandinho himself are yet to make any kind of announcement regarding his future.
