Former Manchester United goalkeeper and Dutch legend Edwin Van Der Sar has told David De Gea that he can be replaced at Manchester United.
The Spanish goalkeeper who was widely considered the best shot stopper in world football in the last few seasons, has struggled for form since the last season. Recently, he lost his place in the national team to Chelsea custodian Kepa Arrizabalaga and now De Gea has been warned that his place in the club could be going the same way by a former Red Devil.
According to Metro, Van der Sar said: “The decision needs to come at a certain point. It takes a long time now, so it’s a case of “yes” or “no”, but I’m not a director of United. Other goalkeepers can also fill the gap. There are a few Premier League goalkeepers playing at the club who can also take the step up. I was 34 when I went to United. So there are lots of opportunities there.”
Of the experienced keepers at United, there is Lee Grant and Sergi Romero and we are pretty sure, neither of them come even close to De Gea even on his worst day so we dont exactly understand what VDS could be refering to here!
