So what happened to the young lad from Latin America?

How did he become almost lost in life and was on the verge of death? Why did he quit Real Madrid? All that and much more and of course how much does Kaka currently own?

Let’s start by finding out his net worth!

Kaka Net Worth Forbes

Forbes on 2019 reported Kaka to be in the top 20 richest footballers of all time. They estimated his net worth to be at $105 million as of 2019. According to Forbes, Kaka had the biggest deals with Adidas and Pepsi Co. Out of his earning, it was believed over $75 million came from salary while $30 million came from his endorsements.

Kaka Net Worth 2020

Kaka retired in 2017. Until then he played for the biggest clubs in Europe in AC Milan and Real Madrid and also at Sao Paulo at Brazil. Kaka was reportedly earning $10 million in his final season at AC Milan. He earned a lot through endorsements as well via companies like Adidas, Hyundai, WiseUp and Pepsi Co from where his estimated annual income is expected to be $5 million.

His net worth as mentioned before is estimated at $105 million.

Kaka also earned in millions when featured on the cover of the popular video game FIFA 11 and FIFA 12. The two editions of the game sold over 200 million units giving Kaka a huge endorsement and royalty fee.

Kaka AC Milan

When a certain young 21-year-old moved from Sau Paulo in Brazil to Italy and joined AC Milan in 2003 for $8.5 million, world football was about to change forever. The playmaker had just dazzled for Brazil the previous year at the age of 20 in the 2002 edition of the FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan. Now it was his time to change the map of European football. Starting from league titles, to European Champions League winners’ medals to Ballon d’Or awards and being part of a mythical AC Milan team – Kaka achieved it all and did it so with grace.

He stamped his authority when he took charge of one of the highest billed Champions League games between AC Milan and Manchester United and took it by the scruff of its neck.

After a difficult stint at Real Madrid, Kaka went back to AC Milan, where once again he was high on the wages. However, the humble man got injured and astoundingly refused to take any wages as long as he was injured.

“I have spoken at length with the club and in the end I decided that I don’t want anything from Milan except love and support until I’m fully fit and ready to play,” he said. “So I have decided to not to be paid for this period of time. The only thing that I ask is the support and help to recover in the best way.

“I have started my rehabilitation and the support from you [the fans] and everything I have heard in the last couple of days really drives me on and makes me determined to come back as soon as possible.”

Kaka Real Madrid

This was at that time in 2009, the second most expensive transfer in the world. Real Madrid paid $66 million to land Kaka from AC Milan. However, Kaka took time to settle with a new team. It got worse as next year with the arrival of Jose Mourinho and Mesut Ozil, Kaka never quite made it to the team. He became the lost player that never was.

It was a waste of salary for Real Madrid also as they kept him on a salary of $300,00 per week for four years – which amassed to $75 million! (before taxes of course!)

Kaka Orlando City

Kaka also went to MLS where he played for Orlando City earning a hefty $6.6 million per year – making him one of the highest-paid players. It was a move primarily made by the MLS to increase their stature.

Kaka Salary

Kaka’s salary has never quite been his biggest priority. Especially with AC Milan, even when he was the best in the world after winning the Ballon d’Or, his salary was less than $200,000 per week – that is almost half of what a certain washed up Mesut Ozil earns now at Arsenal.

At Real Madrid, he was offered a bumper package next to multiple stars. Even at Orlando City, he was brought in for his fame more than his game.

Kaka death story

This is one of those stories that will make you believe in miracles again!

At the age of 18, Kaka, on the verge of entering into world football, the incident took place. Kaka was having fun by a pool when an accidental dive turned fatal as he fell headfirst into a pool. It broke his vertebrae and the playmaker could have been left without football and most probably entered paralysis.

Doctors were convinced this was science beyond them as Kaka recovered not only from the paralysis but started playing football within weeks. His family prayed to the Gods and Kaka became a believer. From the face of death and come, to one of the world’s richest stars!
