Australia qualifies for FIFA WC 2022 with penalty shootout win over Peru

Goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne assured the victory for Australia.

Australia have qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022 after a penalty shoot-out win against Peru.

The Australian side entered the match after beating the UAE National side in their AFC qualifying play-off.

After the game of 120 minutes in Qatar, both sides settled for a goalless draw and it went into a penalty shootout.

Martin Boyle missed the first penalty for Graham Arnold’s side and goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne assured the victory for Australia. He denied Alex Valera’s effort in the shootout.
