Manchester United interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain star

Manchester United have shown an interest in PSG and Belgian international defender Thomas Meunier, according to reports in the Daily Express.

Despite falling down the pecking order following the arrival of Dani Alves in the summer, Meunier has started the season in impressive form and has scored 7 goals for club and country.

Jose Mourinho is looking for a right-back to provide competition for Antonio Valencia, who at 32 will not be able to hold down the position forever – especially as it’s not his natural one.

Meunier would supposedly cost somewhere in the region of £30million, and could even be available in January as he looks for first team football ahead of the World Cup next year.

He would also have the chance to unite with international teammate Romelu Lukaku at Old Trafford, although PSG will take some convincing as the Belgian has a contract until 2020.

The Express say that Mourinho is a long term admirer of Meunier, and will do everything he can to bring him to the club. He wants to strengthen the Manchester United squad as they prepare to battle for the Premier League and Champions League.
