Rival club spending doesn’t bother Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola

Manchester City dint had a very busy transfer window in compare to City;s rival Liverpool. Manchester City has added Riyad Mahrez from Leicester city, while Liverpool had a busy transfer window as they added Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and the ‘most expensive goalkeeper’ Alisson this summer with speculation over Nabil Fekir and Thomas Lemar joining the Anfield.

In an interview, the manager admitted of not being concerned with rival club spendings. He said, “Every club does what they believe. I completely understand, I am not concerned about what one of us said one day and the circumstances. If Liverpool believes they should spend this kind of money, it is because they believe it is best for them.”

He also spoke about his contract extension with the Premier League Champions. “When we decided to extend the contract, first of all I am comfortable, the second one is the club trust what we are doing,” he said.

“Khaldoon [Al Mubarak], Txiki [Begiristain] and Ferran [Soriano] know it depends on results. We have three more years on the contract, but the results will dictate what will happen in the future”

“That’s the most important thing – to be consistent, and to arrive in April and May and be there for the title. As football trainers we are always in a dangerous position.”

Manchester City is finally in USA for their pre-season match. They play Liverpool on Wednesday following a 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
