The England number one made a series of crucial saves to help his side win against Huddersfield Town.
Huddersfield Town manager Jan Siewert has said that Jordan Pickford has once again shown why he is the England number 1. The Everton goalkeeper made some brilliant saves to deny the opposition players and helped his side to win the match by 1-0 after Richarlison gave them the lead early in the match. The Toffees were a man down after Lucas Digne was sent off but Pickford made sure they could hold onto their lead to earn three very valuable points from their visit to John Smith’s Stadium.
Speaking to the media after the match, the new Terriers gaffer said, “I saw why Pickford is England’s number one with incredible saves.”
Speaking about his side’s disappointing performance, he added, “We shouldn’t find excuses. We need to focus. It’s a process which has started. I saw many things I implemented in training. The most important thing is we create chances and the goals will come. The lads got my ideas and we had chances.”
Huddersfield Town currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table and are almost set to face a relegation battle.
