Brazilian suffered hamstring injury against Manchester City
Liverpool officials want a second opinion on Philippe Coutinho after he suffered a hamstring injury against Manchester City on Saturday evening.
The Brazilian play-maker was substituted in the second-half after limping off holding his hamstring, and despite initial scans revealing he should be back in time for the weekend’s game with Swansea City, it’s believed they want a second opinion.
Coutinho was brought off with around 20-minute remaining at the Etihad Stadium, and because of the injury, he’s likely to miss the Europa League game with Bordeux on Thursday.
However, officials around the club are hopeful that he will return in time to face Swansea on Sunday evening.
Coutinho Fears
The initial scans showed the injury was just a minor strain, but according to reports, Liverpool are now fearing the worse.
It’s believed the club will seek a second opinion in order to gain a plan of action for the recovery, making it seem that the injury could be worse than initially thought.
