Manchester United Sent Maguire Warning Amidst Negotiations With Leicester

Brendan Rodgers has called the clock on Manchester United as their interest in Leicester City’s Harry Maguire keeps dragging on for eternity.

The Red Devils along with their ‘noisy neighbours’ registered interest in the English defender back in January. Recently reports came out claiming that two bids worth £75m and £80m have already been rejected by the Foxes.

United have three more weeks to convince Leicester but Rodgers is ready to pull the plug earlier. He told the Sun, “There will be a cut-off point. We can’t leave ourselves short. There are targets we have in mind if Harry was to move on. But we don’t have to sell.

“If the valuation isn’t met it certainly won’t be allowed to go to the very end because, if we did want to bring someone in, it would be too late. So there will be a point – even if the valuation is met – it may just be too late.”

The Leicester City boss reiterated the fact that they don’t need to sell him with his current deal set to run for another 4 seasons. However, he certainly has prepared a replacement for Maguire in Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, for whom they will have to pay over the odds as well.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are thought to be out of the race for Maguire ever since his asking price of £90m got revealed to them. This leaves only United in the chase for the England international as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately tries to revamp the Red Devils backline.
