The Argentine striker had just been at a concert in Holland when the taxi he was in careered into a pole while taking him to the airport on Thursday night
The City has confirmed that Aguero “was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries”.
Aguero is expected to be back in Manchester on Friday and will be examined by City’s medical team before the Premier League trip to Chelsea on Saturday.
Police in Amsterdam confirmed to the BBC that two people were in a taxi which crashed in the De Boelelaan area of the city.
Just hours before the accident, the 29-year-old was attending a concert of Colombian singer Maluma.
The striker posted a photo of himself and the performer on Instagram with the message, “thanks for the invitation”.
It is suggested that he could miss as much as six to eight weeks of action.
