Steven Gerrard has put together his all-time Liverpool XI during the 16-years he has spent at the club.
The captain, who will go down as one of their greatest ever players, has discussed the team he would say is the best he has played with during his time at Anfield, but there is no room for star-striker, Michael Owen, or new starlet, Raheem Sterling.
The 34-year-old was asked what would be his all-time XI at the club during a Q&A session, and below you can see the team he listed.
Goalkeeper – Pepe Reina
Right-Back – Glen Johnson
Centre-Back – Jamie Carragher
Centre-Back – Sami Hyppia
Left-Back – John Arne Riise
Centre-Midfield – Steven Gerrard
Centre-Midfield – Xabi Alonso
Centre-Midfielder – Javier Mascherano
Striker – Luis Suarez
Striker – Fernando Torres
Striker – Robbie Fowler
So Stevie G went with a 4-3-3 formation in order to fit his favoured XI of all-time during his Anfield stay, and after, he was asked who are the most underrated players in his opinion.
He told the magazine: “Didi Hamman, although everyone knows he is class, a lot of his work was for the team and not stand-out work.
“Dirk Kuyt was also someone who was very selfless, so probably Dirk and Didi, two quality footballers who put the importance of the team first.”
Do you agree with his team and his underrated players??
