Victory and defeat remain part and parcel of the football game.

It becomes noticeable when we look into the history of football, when even the most successful teams have experienced bad days.

Some teams have managed to turn the tide against them even in the most unfavorable conditions.  It has been said that victory tastes sweetest when one has known defeat. When it comes to football or any other sport, this saying becomes even more relatable.

The new football season has begun most dramatically. It has brought plenty of excitement, shocks, surprises, pains, and suspense. Our favorite clubs continue to entertain and keep us on the edge of our seats with eye-catching performances as they battle it out across the leagues to be the ultimate champion.

But, this season, a few teams would like to disagree. Here are the Top 5 unbeaten football teams from Europe’s top divisions.

5. Wolfsburg

The German side are probably an unexpected entry on this list. Die Wolves have taken the fans and haters by surprise with their excellent start to this season.

Wolfsburg sit second in the Bundesliga table currently, above the likes of the mighty Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke 04. The Germans have kick-started their season with a 2-1 triumph against Koln. They appear to be a quite strong contender for winning the Bundesliga title since then.

With an ongoing run of seven-games unbeaten, the German side stands tall and strong against their adversaries. Wolfsburg has got the better of their opponents on four of the seven occasions they’ve stepped on the pitch. While on three of them, the match ended in a stalemate.

Ajax is synonymous with beautiful football. Whether they win or lose on the field, Ajax rarely fails in winning the heart of spectators – fans and opponents alike. And they have continued their trend of playing energetic football this season.

In 9 Eredivisie games, the Amsterdam club has won 7 times and are still unbeaten. They were held to a draw only twice this season – against PSV and Vitesse. The Eredivisie titleholders have scored a whopping 29 goals in their run of play.

Ajax will hope to bring their 35th league title this season, further cementing their reputation as the most successful club in the Netherlands. They will also look forward to remain one of Europe’s very few unbeaten teams.

Juventus have kicked-off their latest campaign with a brilliant display of ruthlessness. The Italian giants are once again proving their worth of being the eight-time back-to-back Serie A winners.

The defending champions have won six out of the seven matches they have played, only having to settle for a draw against Atlanta. Maurizio Sarri’s men have scored 13 goals and allowed 6 in the process. With 19 points out of a possible 21, Juventus look comfortable in the quest to land their 36th trophy.

They go against Bologna at home after the international break. Sitting at the top of the table, the Bianconeri would be looking to remain amongst the unbeaten teams.

2. Real Madrid

By their standards, Real Madrid sustained a disastrous outing last season. They had to settle for the 3rd place in La Liga. The Champions’ League campaign proved to be even more bitter when they were knocked out by Ajax in the round of 16. The Spanish giants responded by doing some decent business in the transfer market this summer.

They spent over €300 million to lure the likes of Eden Hazard, Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, and Takefusa Kubo to the Santiago Bernabeu. In an attempt to rejuvenate the club and bring back the winning ways, Zinedine Zidane was brought back by Florentino Perez to take charge.

Zidane’s tenure has started to show its impact as Real Madrid look to extend their eight-game unbeaten run when they go head to head against Mallorca. The 13-time European champions are yet to taste defeat this season in La Liga. They have managed to gain an advantage of their opponents in 5 out of 7 matches, scoring 16 goals in the campaign.

Real Madrid holds the 1st position in the league table with 18 points from 8 games. Real Madrid once again looks to be among the favorites to win the 2019/20 La Liga title.

Liverpool fans were left disheartened last season when their team’s excellent run of form was unable to secure them the Premier League title.

But Liverpool has bounced back once again this season. The Reds have managed to snatch a victory every single time they have stepped on the pitch this season. Their incredible form is a testament of their desire to go head to head against the title holders Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp’s men have already scored 20 times in 8 matches while conceding only 6.

Although the season has only started just yet, Liverpool appear to have a firm hold of their position at the top of the table. The last year’s European champions are showing no signs of slowing down in the chase for the Premier League title, acquiring all possible 24 points. They are one of the few unbeaten teams in Europe this season.
