Reports today claim Chelsea are keen on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Atakan Akkaynak
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in the Bundesliga and is being monitored by a number of Europe’s elite clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
Goal report Chelsea have joined Barcelona in tracking Akkaynak, despite the fact the teenager is yet to make an appearance for Leverkusen’s first-team.
The report is claiming Chelsea are keeping an eye on his progress as they plot a potential swoop for more transfer next window.
The summer transfer window closed only last Thursday, with Chelsea adding two more additions on deadline day.
Danny Drinkwater and Davide Zappacosta both joined the club for almost £50m combined.
The report also claims that Roma and Barcelona are tracking Akkaynak and could rival Chelsea to his signature in the future if they did decide to make a move.
