Blues interested in signing Juventus midfielder
Chelsea have highlighted Claudio Marchisio as a potential signing this summer, according to reports.
The Blues are heavily expected to be busy in the transfer window over the pre-season, especially with a new manager set to take over the reigns at Stamford Bridge.
Reports emerged yesterday claiming Chelsea would have over £200million to spend on new faces in the summer, and Marchisio could be one star coming in.
The midfielder area is expected to be strengthened at Chelsea, with doubts over Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic following poor seasons, and Marchisio has been identified as one potential signing.
Chelsea officials have been in negotiations with Juve previously, for Paul Pogba, and although they are still interested in the Frenchman, it’s now emerged that they want his team-mate as well.
Conte To Bring Marchisio
With Antonio Conte expected to take charge at Chelsea ahead of next season, the Italian could persuade Marchisio to leave Juventus and join him with the Premier League side.
The duo are working together currently for the Italian national team, and Roman Abramovich wants Conte to use his time with the midfielder to persuade him to join Chelsea.
Despite being 30-years-old, which is usually frowned upon by Chelsea officials, they feel Marchisio should be an exception as he’ll provide much-needed experience in the middle of the park.
