Chelsea and Manchester clubs interested in signing Argentine
FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi is considering quitting the club and moving to the Premier League, according to reports.
The Argentinian international is currently out of action due to a knee injury, but according to reports, he’s considering his long-term future and it’s believed it could surprisingly be away from the Nou Camp.
Messi is currently in a dispute with Spanish authorities regarding his tax allegations, and it’s a charge that could see him face 22-months in prison.
Premier League Interest
However, according to reports, the forward is considering leaving the country altogether, which has alerted the Premier League trio.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all reportedly tried to contact Messi’s representatives, with one of the clubs making contact twice.
The 28-year-old often talks about the Premier League with his close-friends, Sergio Aguero and Cesc Fabregas, who play for City and Chelsea respectively, and after hearing good things about the league, he is tempted to move over himself.
Whether the move is done soon is undecided, with Messi having a £180million release clause in his contract, but in 2017, he will have just one-year left on his contract and he could seek a move then.
