Messi wants Argentine teammate at Nou Camp
Lionel Messi has urged Barcelona to sign former Real Madrid forward Angel Di Maria.
Di Maria, currently at PSG, scored twice against Barcelona last week in the French side’s 4-0 thumping of the Catalans in the Champions League.
It was a fantastic performance from a player who’s struggled for consistency in a PSG shirt since his move from Manchester United in 2015.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon claims the Barcelona star wants his compatriot to move to the Nou Camp.
Messi has asked for Sevilla manager, Jorge Sampaoli, to replace Luis Enrique should the Spaniard leave his post at the Nou Camp. He has also asked Sampaoli to sign Di Maria if he comes to the club.
The move would be controversial given the winger’s links to Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old was a popular figure during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
