Reports in Spain suggest Reds want ex-Real Madrid boss

Liverpool have already held talks with recently-sacked Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, according to fresh reports coming out of Spain.

The La Liga giants decided to part ways with the Italian manager this week after failing to win a single trophy this season, despite winning four in the previous two years.

Ancelotti Sacked

Madrid‘s reputation of sacking managers who don’t win anything is common knowledge and with Ancelotti failing in both the league and the Champions League, Florentino Perez decided to part ways with the manager.

Despite being sacked, Ancelotti has a good record with nearly every club he has managed and he will certainly have plenty of offers from across Europe, with Liverpool reportedly making the first move.

Forgettable Season for Reds

The Reds have suffered a torrid season under Brendan Rodgers, failing to win anything and also finishing outside the top-four yet again.

Another worry regarding Rodgers is his transfer activity. Over ÂŁ200million has been spent since he took over at Anfield and nearly all of his players brought in have flopped.

After another failed season, officials at Anfield are strongly considering the future of the club and whether they can still trust Rodgers, but according to reports in Spain, they can’t.

Liverpool Want Ancelotti

It’s been reported that Liverpool have already got in touch with Ancelotti and are ready to offer him the job with the Italian reportedly keen on taking over.

According to Marca, Ancelotti was preparing to take a year-out from football, but if an formal offer from Liverpool comes in, he would be interested in taking the job straight away.

Benitez to Madrid

As for Madrid, it looks like they are set to appoint Rafael Benitez from Napoli as he looks all-but set to leave the Serie A side at the end of the season.
