Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out making a move for Stoke City’s Jack Butland and has instead insisted that he’s happy with what he’s got.

Klopp has ruled out going for Stoke City’s Jack Butland as he has insisted he’s happy with his current goalkeepers.

Liverpool fans have been calling for the club to get a better goalkeeper after inconsistent performances from Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.  And recently, the Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Stoke’s Jack Butland.

But new Stoke manager Paul Lambert has also gone on record stating that he wont let Butland go in January.

Lambert said: “As long as I’m here I’ll do everything I can to keep him.”

“He is one of the best, I don’t care what anybody says. That boy is one of the best goalkeepers I’ve seen.”

And perhaps coincidentally Klopp has also ruled out Butland.

Klopp said: “My favourite solution, always, is that we do it with our boys.

“They deliver, they improve. The problem they have is that everyone is watching them [through a magnifying glass] and saying “still not good enough!

“I will only mention one name. Everyone talks about him with us and that is [Stoke City’s Jack] Butland.

I only saw the game [against Manchester United on Monday]. Fantastic goalkeeper but was he perfect? No. He wasn’t in that game.

“But everyone says “still better than our boys!”

“It makes no real sense if he comes in and makes a mistake in his first game.

“Everyone then says: ‘We need another and another one and another one.’ We have to cool down.”

Klopp has now urged Loris Karius to take his chance after outing Mignolet as the new number one goalkeeper.
