Philippe Coutinho has hailed Jurgen Klopp’s influence on Liverpool.
Brazil international Coutinho recently returned to the squad after two months out with an ankle injury, appearing in the last 30 minutes of Liverpools 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
And Coutinho believes the Reds have big objectives to realise this term, and claims the influence of Jurgen Klopp is a huge boost in their efforts.
“We have to keep working together because the season is very long, we have big objectives to realise this season,” claimed the star.
“The confidence of a good result brings good feeling, and tells us that we have to keep working hard. This season promises to be very important for us and Liverpool have to keep playing well.”
Liverpool have only lost twice so far in this campaign under Klopp and Coutinho is sure that a new found strength in defence has everything to do with the fine run of form they are going through.
When asked about Klopp he added:
“He is a great manager, he has changed the mentality in our team and we have become much stronger in defence, and we’ll keep working together.”
There is no doubt that since Klopp’s arrival Liverpool look like a much improved side, with aspirations of finally lifting the Premier League, something they came incredibly close to doing under Brendan Rodgers, but ultimately fell just short after a defeat to Chelsea (I doubt I need to go into detail and remind any Liverpool fan of THAT day.)
One thing is for sure, there is a different aura around Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp at the helm, they no longer come across as a side struggling to reach the successes of the clubs past, but instead as a group of talented, and hungry players, eager to impress The Kop, and Klopp at the same time.
Maybe, just maybe, Liverpool fans can begin to feel once again like this year could well be, their year.
