Barcelona star, Neymar, has admitted he finds it very difficult to picture himself ever leaving Barcelona, dealing Manchester United a massive blow in their hopes to sign him.
United were linked with a world-record transfer for the winger in the summer, but he ended up signing a new contract at the Nou Camp instead.
His agent Wagner Ribeiro told ESPN Brazil last week: “Neymar was close to joining PSG.
“Neymar was also close to joining Manchester United but he extended his contract to earn less at Barcelona because he wanted to stay.
“PSG were willing to pay his €190 million release clause, Manchester United were interested but PSG were closer to signing him.”
Now Neymar himself has admitted he did have talks with other clubs but told reporters: “I don’t see myself away from Barca. It’s not something I’ve pictured yet.
“I feel like an important part of the team and hopefully I can help them more and more. I’ve already said that, yes, I was in talks with many different teams and I chose to stay here, where I feel at home. As I said, I belong to Barca and I’m really happy here.”
